Terms of Service
Last updated: May 11, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Gumme. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've tried to keep them clear and short — if anything's confusing, email us at hello@gumme.io.
1. Who can use Gumme
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. One person per account. You're responsible for keeping your login secure.
2. Your account & content
You own the photos, messages, event descriptions, and other content you post (“Your Content”). By posting it, you give Gumme a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it within the app for the purpose of running the service. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we're required to keep records for legal or anti-abuse reasons.
You promise that Your Content doesn't violate anyone else's rights and isn't illegal.
3. What you can't do
Don't use Gumme to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
- Post sexual content involving minors, or any illegal content.
- Promote violence, hate, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are.
- Spam, scam, advertise, or use Gumme for commercial promotion (unless we've given you written permission).
- Scrape, copy, or attempt to reverse-engineer the app.
- Interfere with the service's security, performance, or other users' experience.
- Use bots or automated accounts.
We can remove content or suspend/terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Events & meeting in person
Gumme helps you find activities and people in your area, but meeting in person is always your decision. Use common sense: meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts. Gumme doesn't verify every user — even with ID verification, we can't guarantee anyone's behavior. You're responsible for your own safety.
5. Termination
You can delete your account from Profile → Manage Account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that harms others or us.
6. Service is provided “as is”
We work hard to make Gumme reliable, but we don't promise it'll be available 24/7, free of bugs, or perfect for your specific situation. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Gumme is provided without warranties of any kind.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Gumme isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data — even if we knew the damages were possible. Our total liability to you for any claim won't exceed the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app and update the date at the top of this page before the changes take effect.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
